We understand that many companies have had their fingers burnt when using recruitment and staffing agencies and we very much want to differentiate ourselves from the (often rightly so) stigma that exists. We’ve been clients using agencies ourselves in the past and we know how frustrating it can be at times. We want all our clients to have confidence and peace of mind when working with us and, ultimately, that’s how you gain credibility in the marketplace as the go-to recruitment and staffing partner of choice.

What you can expect from us as a client

We meet ALL our candidates. You’ll never get a shortlist from us where we haven’t met those candidates and fully vetted them, both for skills but culture fit too. We conduct a thorough video call with each candidate ensuring we understand them as people as well as the skills/experience they have.

NO filler CV’s. We only submit CV’s of candidates that we would be happy to employ ourselves and who meet the brief you gave us. You will never receive ‘filler CV’s’ from us to make up a shortlist.

Feedback, advice & guidance. We’re about more than a transactional recruitment service. We’ll provide as much support and guidance throughout a process as you need from us. This can include help creating a job description, salary benchmarking, market conditions, and even if you’re expectations are realistic.

Partnership The better our working relationship, then the better the end result, right? We will do all we can to ensure it’s a real partnership and this includes upholding your employer brand, fully explaining the role and your business to prospective candidates, arranging interviews, providing feedback, negotiating salaries, and maintained contact with you and the employee post-placement to ensure everything is going swimmingly.

A front-row seat: a snapshot video to accompany the traditional CV, Higher 3D CV gives you the ability to see the candidate first hand and get an idea of who they are beyond the chronologicalised experience on their CV.

The 5 min video gives a quick insight into your selected candidates, allowing you to see them from all angles and truly get a well-rounded understanding of what they have to offer before you invite them to interview. Meet the Directors

Our management team has over two decades of internal and agency recruitment experience, combined with six years spent in HR and over 15 years in Marketing.

Managing Director, Martin Drake, set up Higher after years of being a frustrated ‘client’ and ‘candidate’ of recruitment agencies. With a background in HR as a Hiring Manager and as a recruiter in his early years, Martin grew frustrated with the poor level of service he received. After what felt like years banging his head against a brick wall, Martin had an epiphany. He took the frustration and exasperation he felt when dealing with agencies and working within them and decided to combine the two to form Higher, with the pure focus and mission being from here on out, to give clients and candidates exceptional service.

There’s no point having a great idea if you don’t know how to shout about it. Enter, Charlotte Drake, Co-Director and our Head of Marketing. Finding the exact same frustrations and poor level of service from recruitment agencies as Martin throughout her career, they joined forces to create not just a recruitment agency but one that has something to say and stands for something. Charlotte has worked in Marketing and Communications for over 15 years, the brains behind our brand and content and our go to for our marketing roles. She knows what makes the market tick.
