5 reasons to work with Higher People

We understand that many companies have had their fingers burnt when using recruitment agencies and we very much want to differentiate ourselves from the cut throat agencies that exist. We want all our clients to have confidence and peace of mind when working with us so here are 5 reasons why you should consider your next role with Higher People.

  • We are local. We are based in Lancashire and know the market landscape and talent within.
  • We meet ALL our candidates. We will never send a candidate for an interview that we haven't qualified in person.
  • We offer an industry leading 6 MONTH, 100% REBATE to give our clients peace of mind.
  • Our standards of delivering the best service are what define us.
  • We provide honest advice and support to both employers and candidates from CV advice to supporting your own recruitment processes.
Little boy with megaphone

"People are not your most important asset.... the right people are."
James C. Collins - Author of Good to Great

Anyone can recruit staff, but companies that excel do so because of the passion and talent of people behind the brand.

Therefore, doesn’t your company deserve the best in the market?

That’s why organisations come to Higher People for support with their recruitment – it’s our ability to unearth the best that Lancashire has to offer.

Higher People is a boutique recruitment agency based in the heart of Lancashire. We specialise in connecting talented professionals with businesses and employers across the North West for permanent, temporary and contract positions.

Recruitment isn’t a new concept and therefore we aren’t here to spin a yarn that we’re reinventing the wheel. However, there is a strong sense of negativity towards the recruitment sector so something is clearly broken. It is our aim at Higher People to change this perception and to provide both jobseekers and businesses with a positive experience throughout their recruitment journeys.

We make it our job to immerse ourselves in the market by meeting individuals every week to learn and understand all the talent that is out there. What differentiates us is that our founder has two decades of internal and agency recruitment experience combined with six years spent in HR. Therefore, we like to believe we have a sound understanding of what good looks like.

As well as working with current job seekers we have a huge network of passive talent that we can tap into. This means that we also speak to people who aren’t actively looking for a new role but who we feel may be interested in your opportunity and be beneficial to your organisation. We can do this because of the leg work we put in every week to ensure we know the talent out there and type of roles that would appeal to them.

We want to get to know your business, how you operate and what the culture is like. If we can become an extension of your own recruitment processes, then we like to think we’ve hit that sweet spot and are doing our jobs correctly.

Only by doing the above can we ensure that we are making the best technical and cultural matches for you to review in the shortlists we deliver.

Our goal is to provide value throughout the recruitment process to all our clients – be that companies who are recruiting or individuals who are looking for a new job. Ultimately, we want to build long-standing relationships and that can only be achieved by giving a superior service.

Higher People was created to raise the bar in terms of how a recruitment agency should operate. Beyond basics of matching jobseekers with vacancies it’s about building long-term relationships. This is achieved by communicating and staying in touch, giving honest and credible advice and feedback, and essentially adding value to the process.

Salary: Up to £21,000 base with industry leading commission

Our client is a Digital Marketing Agency who specialise in creating and developing websites and improving their clients Google ranking through SEO techniques. They are seeking a Business Development Executive to join their expanding team.

The business has been operating for almost ten years and have grown very organically. They believe in recruiting the right people with the correct attitude and skills that complement the existing team. This is evident through the positive reviews of their service by clients, as well as the length of service of each team member.

The Business Development Executive will join a small but highly experienced team, and this is a new role which is required to support plans of continued growth. The business is a Google Certified Partner. They have a technical team who help clients both create and develop their websites, as well as improve their website ranking on Google.

The role of the Business Development Executive is to approach customers through a mixture of cold and warm calls, and look to promote your services to them. The style is very much about building relationships and trying to provide a holistic service rather than an aggressive and speedy sales conversion. The culture of the business doesn’t warrant or promote that.

The suitable person will have previous experience of selling Digital Marketing products previously. However, you do not need to be a technical expert, just a professional and hard-working sales professional who want to be part of a fun and credible team. In return you will be given lots of autonomy to deliver the results with no micro management or obsession on KPI’s. They also offer a very impressive (and achievable) commission structure. The long tenure of their employees is a reflection of how good this opportunity is.

The office environment is very relaxed and casual. Working hours are 9am – 4.30pm Mon-Thurs, with a nice early 3.30pm finish on Fridays. They are located close to the M6 so great for any commuters outside of Preston.
